The captains are responsible of making sure that the game starts on time.

  • If a team has 5 players, start the game anyways.  Do not wait for a 6th player.  If the 6th player arrives before the combine total of 10 pts during the first game.  The team will be considered 6 players for the attendance.  If player arrives after 10 pts, they will be considered 5 players for the attendance.
  • If a team has 4 players, 5 minutes will be allowed if you are waiting for a 5th player.  If no player is coming, begin play.  Teams that are only 4 players or less when they start, will automatically go down a tier or stay in tier 3. But their position will still count towards the standing points.
  • If a team is 3 players or less, 5 minutes will be allowed if you are waiting for a 5th player.  If still only 3 players, they will FORFEIT the set.  After 15 minutes the second set.  Even, if the players show up in the middle of the set.

Nets:

  • Teams that have their names underlined in red will put up the nets and the ones underlined in green will take the nets down.  Make sure to put away appropriatly.

League play:

  • 1 man minimum and 3 men maximum
  • If a team is playing with 4 men, every set will be 0-25, but will not count as NO SHOW.  They will only only get half of their points for the position that they receive.
  • Only 1 SENIOR A male player is allowed on the court per team.  A senior A member, is someone who has played last year in these categories, whether in VNB, university or equivalent.
  • If 2 or more SENIOR A men play, every set will be 0-25.
  • Round robin matches are 2 sets.
  • Sets are 25 pts, must win by 2 with no max.
  • Team captains are responsible to make calls, please be vigilant.
  • If a team is or becomes 4 players or less, the person serving will be considered a back row player.  Which means that they cannot jump at the net, past the 3 meter line.  A rotation must be maintained.
  • Spares lists will be available to captains.  Once a spare has played on your team and that they are not on the list.  The captain must advise the coordinator(stephane.richard@codiacco-ed.com)  to add them to list, so that the player will be available to other teams and the playoffs.

Score sheets:

  • Captains must indicate the number of players that are present during first set beside their team name.
  • Scores must be written down by the winning team after each set.  It is good pratice for the other captain to check.  If no scores are written, I will not chase after those teams and they will receive both 0-0.
  • Captains must write down every spare and the team they played for on the sheet provided at the end of the binder and get signed by an opposing captain.
  • Send results to the coordinator as soon as possible by picture text to 381-9272.

Attendance:

  • Teams must be 6 players, 60% of the time or more during the season to be eligible for the playoffs.
  • Teams must be 5 players to count as a team.
  • Teams that are only 4 players or less when they start, will automatically go down a tier or stay in tier 3.  Their position will still count towards the standing points.
  • If a team shows up with 4 players or less, 5 weeks or more of the season.  They will not be elegible for the playoffs.
  • Exceptions will be permitted for injuries or other emergencies occuring during match time where substitutions are not available.  If you know you need to leave early,  this is not considered an emergency and the team will be mark as the number of players they are at that time.
  • A team that cannot make a Tuesday night match will forfeit all their match points and standing points.  They must contact the league coordinator.  They will be awarded with a "NO SHOW".
  • Teams are allowed to have a player from another team, if the player's team is not playing that night due to school cancellation. (curriculer activities or other)  Only during the regular season, NOT during the playoffs.
  • NO SHOWS: 3 no shows will result with an ejection of the league.  Teams cannot reschedule matches under any circumstances.
  • For weather cancellations, only the league may cancel part or all of the matches.

Round Robin Scoring

  • Every win is considered a point.
  • The total number of wins accumulated by each team will determine the final positions within each tier.  The top team will be the one with the most wins and so on.
  • If two teams are equal in wins.  The record of the match between the two teams will be the first determining factor.  If still tied, the next factor will be the total points for (+) and against (-) of all their matches.
  • If three teams or more are tied.  The determining factor will be the total of points for (+) and against (-) of all their matches.
  • Finally, if none of the above methods are able to determine the final positions, a coin toss will be used.
